ABOUT US
Hello, and Welcome to Black Convergence!
A Community where Black people converge to support each other, build economic empowerment, and improve our overall community. Our goal is to make Black Convergence the central place Black people come to find the necessities they need on a daily basis at Black owned businesses – from the smallest to the biggest, groceries to medical services to banking services – the place where Black people concentrate to give support and get the support they need.
In light of the recent sad and very disturbing events of the murder of our dear sister Breonna Taylor and our dear brothers Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd, we believe it’s time for us to do everything in our power to garner the leverage we need to be able to effect consequences to the horrific ways in which we are being treated here in America.
Where Black People Are Economically And Why We, As a Community, Have No Say
- Full Economic Empowerment 100%
- White 84%
- Other Non-Black 63%
- Black vis a vis Non-Black 37%
At 37%, we cannot command any meaningful, lasting change. More of us need to be economically empowered in order to have a say as a community. We need our money flowing right in order to influence politics. This is how it works! We must build and improve our individual family, but we must also help to build and improve our community as a whole.
Other communities voices are being heard; ours is not, thus the callous behavior towards us – continuously. They work together, put their respective communities first and have amassed enough of the economic tangibles to be able to have a say in what takes place politically, and effect consequences when their community needs are not met.
How We, As a Community of Black People, Can Make Our Voices Heard
We can make our voices heard by working together, looking out for each other, and putting our needs first – as a community. Let’s begin by buying black and supporting black-owned businesses in our area and online. We must pool our resources together and keep it flowing in our community! As a Black community, let’s buy black EVERY TIME we can, as we do not yet have all the businesses we need in our communities. That’s our end goal!!!
But for now, seek out, go the extra mile to support black businesses and black causes. Bookmark this website www.blackconvergence.com and return to search the Black Business Marketplace for the products and services you need on a daily basis. We are constantly adding new businesses, so please bear with us, and if you cannot find your favorite black-owned business or product, let us know by sending us a note through our contact us page.
How Non-Black Communities Who are Eager to Assist Black People in Our Struggle for Racial Equality, Equity, and Justice Can Help Us Achieve Our Goal
Non-Black communities, we see you fighting alongside us for racial equality, equity and justice, and we appreciate you supporting us. We have been asked many times by our Non-Black allies how they can be of more assistance, and we have put together 5 ways in which you can help long-term:
Buying from Black-owned shops, stores and brands is one of the many ways to be an ally and show support to a community that has been deeply affected by systemic racism. Not only are Black business owners turned down for loans twice as often as their white counterparts, but they were also hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. Your money can make a difference, especially when you continuously choose to buy Black for everyday lifestyle staples like makeup, clothes, food and more.
We are consistently working at making this website the go-to for Black owned products and services. But if you cannot find what you are looking for here in our Black Businesses Marketplace using our friendly search bar, a simple Google search will direct you to Black-owned businesses within your community that will most likely have the product(s) or service(s) you are shopping for. Our hope is that you’ll find some new favorite products here at Black Convergence, as well as similar everyday products you are already using so you can continue to find and shop with Black owned businesses here – longterm. And because we’re just scratching the surface with listing and promoting Black owned businesses, we promise to continue updating this list.
You stumbled upon this website for a reason, so please be a part of this movement. Buy Black EVERY TIME you can! And Non-Black allies, buy Black one day each week is all we ask #BuyBlackDay.
Subscribe to our Newsletter so you can be notified of new business additions and sales Black businesses in our community are having.
We look forward to seeing you around here as we work together to get ourselves to Black Economic Empowerment.
With lots of love for The Black Community
